Warren County, Virginia - In a legal action filed in May 2024 in the Circuit Court for Warren County, Robin Hicks Bayne, represented by Jarvis Law PLLC, has lodged a complaint against Winchester Builders Group LLC (WBG) and several individuals associated with the company. The complaint alleges fraudulent misrepresentation, negligence, and failure to meet industry standards in the renovation of Bayne's property in Front Royal, Virginia.

The defendants named in the complaint include Winchester Builders Group LLC, its Managing Partner Gary Ackerman, Jason Gray, Leif Ackerman, David Hicks, Anthony Doe, and Richard Lloyd.

The complaint outlines a series of concerning events beginning with Bayne’s engagement of Winchester Builders Group LLC for renovation work on her residence in 2021. Despite assurances made by the defendants, the work performed by WBG allegedly fell short of industry standards, resulting in significant damage to Bayne's property.

Key allegations in the complaint include:

  • Misrepresentation of Credentials: WBG purported to be a Class-A Contractor despite lacking the appropriate licensing. The complaint alleges that this misrepresentation was made to Bayne, who was misled into believing that she was contracting a reputable and qualified company.
  • Substandard Work: Despite significant payments made by Bayne, the work performed by WBG did not meet industry standards. Multiple instances of damage to the property and failure to obtain necessary permits are cited as evidence of negligence on the part of the defendants.
  • Fraudulent Practices: The complaint alleges that the defendants engaged in a pattern of fraudulent behavior, including misappropriation of funds and misrepresentation of services. Bayne claims to have paid substantial sums to WBG for work that was either not completed or completed to a substandard level.
  • Failure to Rectify: Despite numerous attempts by Bayne to address the issues with the work performed, the defendants allegedly failed to rectify the situation or provide adequate compensation for the damages incurred.

Jarvis Law PLLC, representing Bayne, is seeking appropriate legal remedies for the damages suffered as a result of the Defendants’ actions. The complaint seeks restitution for the financial losses incurred by Bayne, as well as punitive damages to deter similar conduct in the future.

The case, Robin Hicks Bayne v. Winchester Builders Group LLC et al., has been filed in the Circuit Court for Warren County.
